Good As New

I have an annoying tendency -- I seem to assign value to clothes based on newness. I am always excited to wear new things immediately, even if they don't end up being longtime favorites. For instance, I wore this slouchy striped tee (after taking some scissors to it) and these menswear oxfords as soon as I brought them home from the thrift store yesterday. I don't even know if I like the shoes, but they were only $3, and I knew I'd wear them at least once. I suppose as long as I confine impulse buys to thrift stores, it won't put too much of a strain on the wallet. Oh, and don't mind that ghostly aura next to me.
Tee: Vintage, thrifted, $2 // Jeans: Almost Famous, TJMaxx, $20 // Shoes: Kenneth Cole, thrifted, $3

  3. You should definatly wear those shoes again, they are super cool. You look like a rock star, you are killin it!
I don't know what that t-shirt was like before but the crop is perfect. You really know what does and doesn't work together. You have some really great thrift stores around you to be getting shoes for $3.

  4. That's so funny that you do that, because I really do the exact opposite. It's like I'm trying to horde my new things, keep them for safety, save the newest for last, and other such nonsense. In any case, I love this whole outfit. I have been SERIOUSLY wanting some oxfords like those lately. Mad cool.

  5. The shoes would look great with a slouchy cotton jersey skirt, and a plain tank, maybe with a brooch or something for flavor. Alternately, you could do them with those jean shorts you were wearing a couple of posts ago and a cocoon vest. Yes: keep!

  13. I have that same issue. I can't restrain myself from wearing things as soon as I buy them. You look great, though, so it can't be that bad, right?

  15. haha, I'm the same way. I don't think it's such a bad habit though...wearing the item (and taking pictures) help me decide how I REALLY feel! Love the top you're wearing (not sure about the oxfords, though. Too blurry to make an informed decision!)
