This ruffled blouse may look normal, but from my vantage point, the neck detail totally reminds me of the spitting dinosaur from Jurassic Park. I always think about dinosaurs when I wear it. Not a bad thing.

Inspired by an outfit from the most recent J.Crew catalog, I was determined to wear a button-up, sweater and necklace in the same color. Unfortunately, my only option was an obnoxious combination of pinks. While I may very well sport that ensemble later, it was a bit too much for me at such an early hour. I opted for a more subtle pairing of whites and beiges. I'll have to work up to the Pepto-Bismol explosion!

And I'm finally back! Here's what I wore on Thanksgiving. It was an absolutely beautiful, unseasonably warm day. Though my family is a casual bunch, it's always fun to dress up at least a little on holidays. I started with a nice dress and toned it down a bit by layering it over a chambray button-up and adding knee socks and desert wedges. I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!

I kept things nice and cozy on Friday. My festive sweater elicited a bit of teasing, but what can I say? I love the holiday season! It may not even be Thanksgiving yet, but you better believe I'm rocking the Christmas music already.

I liked the way these patterns played off each other. It made otherwise classic pieces feel fresh and playful. In other news, I'm a happy camper because tomorrow kicks off the weekend, a short work week and then food, family and fun!
