Down to Business

One can never have too much yellow or too many polka dots in her life, so I took the liberty of adding this peplum top and these printed jeans to my respective collections recently! And here I go again with the yellow, navy and red!

When Moo offered to send me some business cards, I knew it was the perfect opportunity to let my new blog design shine. I decided to try their Luxe Business Cards, and I couldn't be happier with the result! Not only was their customer service some of the best I've encountered, my cards were produced and shipped super fast and turned out beautifully! Moo executed the design by BiKlops Design flawlessly, and the quality exceeded my expectations. If you're in the market for some new cards, I couldn't recommend them more highly.

Current Colors

When I realized the color scheme of my outfit unintentionally matched that of my outerwear, I knew it was no coincidence. This combination is clearly enjoying favor right now! I've always adored some of these shades (cough, yellow, cough), but others (navy and red) are newer stars of my wardrobe. Considering my last two outfits were primarily red, it's clearly an obsession. Perhaps the holidays are going to my head. All I know is the combination of all three had me swooning!

Before I go, I'd like to welcome my new sponsor, Lulu*s! I'm a longtime Lulu*s lover thanks to their large selection and low prices, but they have SO MUCH cute stuff right now! I was honestly a little overwhelmed...in a good way.

Suit Up

I'm not big on Black Friday shopping, but I found myself at H&M this year and picked up a few super affordable pieces. True to recent form, I ended up with multiple red items, which I promptly paired together!

Cherry Bomb

I liked my cropped trousers so much that I decided to grab a pair of jeans out of my giveaway bag and lop off a few inches to create a similar look. This outfit was from last week when it was warm enough to show some skin. More wintry weather has started to set in since then, but I'm not complaining! The holiday season is here, and I couldn't be happier.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I love to feel festive on holidays, so today I went for classic separates in cheery colors. I'm taking the rest of the weekend to enjoy food, family and friends, but I'll be back in action on Monday. See you then!

Schoolhouse Rock

I've seen some chic outfits involving overalls lately, which inspired me to pull out my overall dress. Maybe it's only trendy when there are pants attached. While I've always liked this dress, I get mixed reviews when I wear it, to put it charitably. I'm not sure if I felt more like a student or the teacher of a kindergarten class in this get-up, but I probably made matters worse by slapping a big red bow on it. You know, sometimes you've just got to be yourself, even if that self is really dorky. Words to live by.

For those interested, I did a Kansas Couture Vintage shop update yesterday!

Starting Anew

As you may have noticed yesterday, Kansas Couture has a brand new look thanks to the talents of BiKlops Design! I'm thrilled with the way it turned out and hope you love it, too! In a way, the fresh design is symbolic of everything in store for this blog. After four years, I do believe the best is yet to come! To old and new readers alike, thanks so much for taking the time to visit.

As for the outfit, this is one of my favorite cold weather dresses. While I usually pair it with colorful tights, the moderate weather allowed me to go without. It may be a tad too short for that, but I wanted to keep things simple to showcase my new boots!

The Wrong Trousers

The title of this post is pretty nonsensical... I just love Wallace & Gromit! But in a way these are the wrong trousers for me. I found them at a thrift store ages ago but have barely worn them. They fit like a glove, but I have an unusual problem with them. While pants are always too long for my petite frame, these are too short! They are the perfect length for flats, but I rarely wear flats, especially with dressier pieces. To remedy this, I pinned them up to create cropped trousers, and I love the result! I may actually sew them to this length. Even beyond the pants, I adored everything about this outfit. This sweater is a new favorite, and overall it was a nice break from my usual skinny jeans or skirt.

Barbie World

I wasn't kidding when I said I'd be back to normal in no time! Normal for me is apparently an outfit comprised entirely of bubblegum pink. I thrifted both these pieces on the same day and knew they were destined for each other. Truthfully, I may have bought the sweater just so I could wear it with the skirt, but it'll get along with the rest of my closet just fine.

Out of the Ordinary

Words I might use to describe my style include structured, girly, mod, fitted and preppy. This outfit is virtually none of those things! There are times when I just feel like wrapping a blanket around me and leaving the house, so when I spotted this poncho thing, I thought it would come in handy. And it already has! This is the second time in a month that I've posted something like this. Perhaps my style is evolving, but I wouldn't hold your breath. I'll be back in plaid, polka dots and pencil skirts in no time.
