Sightseeing Style

These shots were taken on a day full of touristy fun in Chicago. We hit up Millennium Park, the Art Institute, several cute shops, a bar arcade (the best!) and Girl & the Goat for dinner. Comfort was a must, but that didn't stop me from layering on some pieces in my favorite sunny shade!

Paint the Town Red

Coming back to an extra busy work week, my time in Chicago seems like a distant memory! Nonetheless, I have some outfits from the trip to share with you all. This is what I wore for dinner at Longman & Eagle one evening. The cocktails were to die for! This little red dress is so simple and comfortable yet cute. I'm sure it'll be part of my regular rotation!

Squared Away

I'm absolutely obsessed with '60s-style square-heeled sandals right now! While I plan to get a more neutral pair, I couldn't resist this red, white and blue version on super sale. I played up the Americana vibe with a coordinating dress and accessories.

Fashion Flashback

My apologies for the quiet month so far on Kansas Couture! Between my new job, packing and moving to a new apartment, preparing for an upcoming trip and more, it's been one crazy summer so far! I like to think I've been staying on top of my style game, but I've definitely been bad about documenting it. To tide you over, take a peek at a few favorites from last July! Check back for new outfits soon...I'm planning to get one up before I sneak off to Chicago for a long weekend, and I'll have much to share when I get back! Hope you're all having a wonderful summer.

Awhile Back

I seem to have fallen a bit behind on posting...this outfit is from at least a couple weeks ago! Though not completely current, it's an example of one of my favorite recipes for style: bright skinnies, a classic tee, a pair of hot heels and a couple of bold accessories! Easy peasy and appropriate for a variety of occasions. In my case, work at my (admittedly casual) office, followed by happy hour. Cheers!

One Easy Piece

Whether it's a jumpsuit or a romper, I absolutely adore one-piece garments. They provide the ease of a dress but with a bit more character. This tribal-printed number inspired me to select bohemian accessories for an easy, chic summer look!

Fourth of July

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! It's going to be tough to return to reality tomorrow, but I suppose you can only have so many days of fun in the sun!

Oldies but Goodies

Though I hadn't worn any of the pieces in quite some time, this cutesy, casual look came together quickly over the weekend. It was a comfortable, no-fuss combination that still felt tied together. Plus, you can't beat a Peter Pan collar, stripes and bows all in one outfit!
