Paint By Numbers

After Monday's brief preview of spring, winter is back in full force! I wasn't particularly motivated when it came to putting together an outfit, so I just started with one piece and kept adding until it felt complete. It ended up being a rather color-coordinated combination. While I wasn't super excited about the ensemble, I am stoked about the latest addition to my bee collection!

All-Star Style

Today's ridiculously nice weather allowed me to prematurely consult the list of spring outfit ideas I've jotted down recently. Lately I'm loving the idea of a stylish sweatshirt (or a regular sweatshirt worn stylishly), so I went for a sporty look complete with bare legs and comfy sneakers for walking around and enjoying the afternoon!

Holly Golightly

I'm not usually a pigtail proponent because they look so juvenile, but a recent Audrey Hepburn movie kick changed my mind. After watching Breakfast at Tiffany's, I was inspired to recreate her hairstyle from the final scene. She looked so charming... it's like the casual version of her signature beehive!

Creature Comforts

This is an outfit I've worn a few times this winter, partially because I think it's cute but mostly because it's insanely comfortable! Every piece is either stretchy, loose, soft & fuzzy, or some combination of those qualities. Also featured is my lazy girl's top knot. I just put my hair in a high ponytail and do a loop -- no pins necessary. What was that I said in my last post about not being a slacker? I can't remember.

Don't forget! Tomorrow is the last day of my Kansas Couture Vintage clearance sale! 40% off everything with coupon code CLEARANCE. Any remaining items will be removed in preparation of my relaunch.

The Big Chill

It's been so cold the past couple of days that I've had a hard time finding the motivation to dress presentably and get outside to take pictures! Yesterday I piled on the layers but tried to keep it cute. Though the Lulu's top is more of a warm weather piece, I love the way the jeweled collar looks peeking out from a sweater. Speaking of Lulu's... they are giving me some serious spring fever right now! They have so many pretty new pieces. If you haven't browsed recently, I highly suggest it! Anyway, It's warmer today, so no excuses for being a sartorial slacker!

The Scarlet Sweater

Thanks to mild weather on Friday, I let my ankles and knees feel the breeze! I liked how the opulent necklace dolled up an otherwise super casual outfit. I don't know what it is about red sweaters, but I have some kind of magnetic attraction to them! While I've unintentionally amassed quite a collection, the chunky shape of this one makes it my favorite.

Auld Lang Syne

Way after the fact, here's what I wore on New Year's Eve! The hair is a dead giveaway that these pictures were taken more recently, but besides the missing red beehive, this is just how I looked. Though it has been compared to a mop, I love the flapper-reminiscent fringe on this vintage dress... perfect for dancing! And, of course, the yellow color won me over right away. It felt like a crime not wearing any sparkle or shine, so I added some metallic pearls and borrowed the gold shoes from my Etsy shop. Did you get dolled up for the holiday?

Have a wonderful weekend!

The Same Old Song

I saw a picture recently of someone wearing a striped shirt and classic hat. While I suppose the combination seems obvious, it definitely inspired me! Sometimes I just feel like wearing timeless pieces rather than trying to say something new.

Bauble Obsessed

Necklaces have long been my accessory of choice... the bigger, the better! While I've tended more towards gold pieces in the past, lately I can't get enough color! Perhaps I have spring on the mind. Between this new orange beauty, the yellow necklace I got for my birthday and the mint bubble necklace in the mail, I'm started to feel like a crazy lady! I'm confident they will all get plenty of wear though.

P.S. I finally updated my About and Blog List!

Simple Stripes

I loved the simplicity of this casual weekend look. You can't go wrong with Breton stripes, a red accent, denim and classic boots. I picked up the darling bow belt as a little present to myself on my birthday. It's safe to assume it will make frequent appearances on the blog!
