The London Look

Dress: Vintage via Beacon's Closet, $25 // Shoes: Forever 21, $25 // Necklace: Forever 21, $8 // Bag: Vintage, thrifted, $3

Rather than getting too caught up in the excitement of a new season and buying lots of stuff, I'm trying to shop my closet for trendy fall items I already own. After mentioning my obession with mod '60s dresses, I remembered this little number. I got it two years ago while visiting New York City and have somehow never worn it! I think I thought it didn't fit me right, or maybe its imperfections -- slightly yellowed color, snagged threads in some spots -- blinded me to its awesomeness. I must have been crazy, because I'm totally in love with it!

You in Your Autumn Sweater

Sweater: Urban Outfitters, $5 // Jeans: Gap, purchased with gift card // Belt: Thrifted, $3 // Necklace: Antique mall, $6

Ahh, sweater weather. There's nothing nicer. It seemed to arrive overnight around here. One day it was summer, the next there was that unmistakable crispness in the air. This light, breezy knit from Urban is perfect for these moderate transitional days. Forgive me for talking about the weather a lot. The change of season is exciting, and fall might be my favorite!

A Full-Fledged Fall Outfit!

Dress: Thrifted, $5 // Jacket: Forever 21, $32 // Shoes: Forever 21, $26 // Belt: Thrifted, $1 // Bracelets: Forever 21, $11 & $7

After yesterday's sneak peek, here are some of my newly acquired fall items in action! Much like leopard pumps, a good brown "leather" jacket was another staple missing from my collection. I love this casual version with quilted details, and its warm tone practically matches my hair! Definitely destined to be a favorite. As for the shoes, they fulfill my cravings for loafers and red pumps. The saga continues in regard to the pair I couldn't decide about. I'll update you guys soon! On an unrelated note, I'm not sure why it registered so dark in these photos, but my dress is purple in real life!

The Last of Summer

Top: Forever 21, $20 // Skirt: H&M, $10 // Shoes: Target, $12 // Necklace: Wild Man Vintage, $11

Okay, back to regularly scheduled programming! This outfit represents the only time I put any effort into my appearance over the past weekend. While that is kind of sad, it attests to the sheer laziness of my four days off. All that much needed rest made it difficult to go back to work today but also nice to get cleaned up and return to my routine. Since I wore this summery little outfit, a fall chill has set in. I'm sad to see swimming season end, but I can't get enough of this utterly perfect weather, and I'm having so much fun putting together fall looks!

The Dawn of Autumn

Due to some camera connectivity issues, my planned outfit post has been delayed! Instead, here's a little peek at some fall goodies I scored over the weekend.

Also, the winner of the jcpenney giveaway is Elaine. Congrats! I will send you an email soon.

Favorite Fall Trend: Mod Dresses

It's hard to pick a favorite decade of fashion, but if I had to, it would definitely be the '60s. This fall I'm coveting mod dresses more than ever -- shift shapes, pop colors, graphic prints and cute little details like bows and peter pan collars.

At Last

Shirt: TJMaxx, $10 // Skirt: Goodwill, $4 // Pumps: Go Jane, $18 // Bracelet: Courtesy of Lucky Mag and Loft

While leopard pumps are definitely a staple in my book, I somehow have never owned any! They've been on my shopping list for awhile, but it wasn't until this week that I finally got a pair. I'm sure I'll invest in some nicer ones down the road, but for now, this chunky platform pair is positively perfect. Provided they aren't too uncomfortable, I anticipate wearing them all the time this fall.
