Makeshift Peplum

Top: Forever 21 // Skirt: H&M // Shoes: Gift // Belt: Vintage // Ring: Courtesy of InPink

I'm glad the peplum is enjoying popularity this season. It makes for such a pretty a silhouette. Unfortunately I don't have very many peplum pieces in my closet, so I grabbed a boxy blouse with a ruffled hem, belted it and poof! Worked like a charm. On another note, this outfit made me realize how seldom I wear flats. It felt downright strange!

This makes a definitely amazing peplum look...in fact, I like the way it makes a ruffled peplum. Here's hoping this trend sticks around since I adore the silhouette it makes :)

The peplum absolutely terrifies me because i carry my extra weight around my middle. Maybe I'll try your DIY approach to see how it looks on me.

BTW, I will be in Lawrence this weekend with my hubby just to hang out and eat Indian food (hopefully the restaurant we went to years ago is still open). Any suggestions as to where to shop and eat?
