Quite Casual
This was one of those outfits that I just threw on for comfort without much thought, but I ended up really liking it. Don't you love it when that happens? Though it's just a tee and jersey skirt, the little bee necklace and floral oxfords make it feel more special.

New Life
As someone who has an obnoxiously hard time letting go of stuff, I'm trying to evaluate my closet with a ruthless, discerning eye. There have been a few instances, however, that I've seen potential in an old garment. This sort of drab shirt dress (last seen here) is one example. After snipping the sleeves off, it feels much more of-the-moment, and the necklace almost seems like part of the dress! Do you have any tricks for revitalizing old stuff, or do you just get rid of it when you're bored?
Dress: Old Navy (altered by me)

Moving On Up
Jumpsuit: ModCloth // Shoes TJMaxx // Belt: Vintage // Headband: Target
Profuse apologies for my prolonged absence! In the midst of moving to a new apartment, my recent style was best left undocumented. One of the very few perks of moving is the potential to rediscover items in your closet. I picked up this jumpsuit on sale probably a year ago and only wore it once. While I think I will work on giving it a more tailored fit, it was fun to feel like I had a new piece! As I organize my new (and much smaller) closet, I'm sure more forgotten pieces will pop up, and I plan to put some items up for sale soon!

Makeshift Peplum
Top: Forever 21 // Skirt: H&M // Shoes: Gift // Belt: Vintage // Ring: Courtesy of InPink
I'm glad the peplum is enjoying popularity this season. It makes for such a pretty a silhouette. Unfortunately I don't have very many peplum pieces in my closet, so I grabbed a boxy blouse with a ruffled hem, belted it and poof! Worked like a charm. On another note, this outfit made me realize how seldom I wear flats. It felt downright strange!

The Clash
Dress (actually a skirt): Old Navy / / Shoes: Courtesy of B.A.I.T. Footwear // Necklace: H&M
Apparently wearing skirts as dresses is one of my trademarks... here I go again. I really liked the way this necklace looked with the neckline of the "dress," but I almost didn't wear it because the colors didn't quite go. The more I looked at the pairing, though, the more I liked it. Rather than opting for something more coordinating, I took the discordant color scheme a step further with non-matching shoes.

Poolside Style
With this summer's intense heat, I've been spending a lot of time at the pool. In past years, I've worn the same suit again and again, but this season I finally added some new ones to my collection, including this eye-catching one-piece from Swimspot! When they asked me to do a review, I took one look at the website and agreed! Their selection of women's swimsuits is vast, and it's easy to find exactly what you're looking for using filters like style, color and body type. While I usually go for more retro styles, I was won over by the bold details of this pink piece. The intricate back is totally worth the wonky tan-lines. Stay cool out there!
