Party Girl

Between birthday-related distractions and a bout of sickness, I have some catching up to do! First, I wanted to share with you the fun little party dress I wore to celebrate my birthday over the weekend. This vintage find actually has a longer skirt underneath, but it felt a bit intense, so I pinned it up underneath to create a shorter length and some fullness. I thought the result was perfectly cute and playful! My sister gave me the yellow necklace as a present during dinner and I put it on immediately -- a perfect match! This week I will also finally get around to sharing my New Year's Eve outfit with you (another fab vintage find), as well as some regular old outfits.

Rainbow Bright

Though it's not my typical palette, I'm loving all the playful colors at work in this look. My birthday is tomorrow, so I suppose I'm feeling extra festive!

The Dark Side

Perhaps my new hair color is affecting my clothing choices! I felt a little goth in this mostly black get-up, but the pink blouse, baby doll dress and bows kept it sweet.

Time for a Change

The start of a new year had me feeling restless and itching for a change. While I intended to go back to my natural color once my hair got long, I loved my red and planned to stick with it for the time being. After discussing possibilities with my stylist, we decided on a whim to take the plunge and do something different! This chocolate brown is closer to my natural hue than red, but it's darker than anything I've had before. It's just what I needed to shake things up a bit!

Dressed Down

I've always enjoyed contradictory compositions, so it was only a matter of time before this cocktail dress was paired with a more casual item. It's a great way to get more mileage out of your fancy pieces!

Happy New Year!

At last! A regular old outfit post. This is an ensemble I wore a couple of times during the holidays. I've had these sparkly oxfords for quite awhile but have only recently given them the appreciation they deserve! Thanks for your patience while I took a little break from the blog. While it was lovely to have some time off, I'm looking forward to getting back into a structured routine. Cheers to the new year!
