I Had This Dream I Was Flying...

Sweater: Vintage, thrifted, $3 // Jeans: Almost Famous via TJMaxx, $18 // Hat: H&M, $15 // Boots: Courtesy of BC Footwear

I totally forgot about this picture I took last weekend featuring my thrifted batwing sweater. I'm not crazy about the way I styled it. It's kind of a tricky piece. Next time, I'm thinking something sleeker like skinny black pants, heels and a big necklace. Any ideas?

This is one ABSOLUTELY one of my favorites from your blog! The lines are so fun and interesting to look at. I think black skinnies and heels are perfect, but since you have lots going on on top, maybe add a necklace thats colorful but not too detailed? Like solid colored, but bright. LOVE IT!!

I love batwing shirts! I think the way you styled it is good for being casual! Great hat.

Maybe skinny black pants? Something shiny, not denim.

I think this looks so cool! It's got the broken-down French vibe to it. And this picture is perfect!

Love it! Would definitely look good with black pants :)

i'm not sure if i would pair a necklace with it because the sweater is such a statement itself, but i think it would look great with black leggings/skinny pants!

This is the perfect pose to go with the shirt! Though I agree, perhaps having simpler pieces with this shirt would make it stand out more. I'd think maybe a statement necklace would take away from the striking pattern of the shirt.

Love the bowler, too!

Wow, that sweater is great! I wish I could pull something like that off, but sadly I wouldn't look half as good as you do.

I would go with the skinny black pants, and a pair of heals in a nice pop of color. But maybe no to the big necklace because it might compete too much with the detail of the sweater? Maybe an interesting hat or hair accessory instead would do the trick.

I would stick to black and white methinks. Best-hat-ever, maybe even better in black to go with this sweater, and cropped black skinny jeans like claivintge and dancing shoes, no, two tone b&w brogues. Admittedly I don't know a lot about the elements of style, but to me you look like you're going to break into an impromptu dance like Thompson, Astaire or Hepburn in Funny Face, I don't know why I have this vision but I like it! I have a fabulous batwing sweater too which I think you'd suit more than me!

I actually like it with those jeans ( my favorite by the way) but it would look like with a pencil skirt or some black pants like you said. Great look!

love this sweater! a pencil skirt might be a nice way to dress this shirt up a lot...or leggings/black pants with some chunky heels.

Amazing sweater! And only $3?! You have such a good eye.

As you and others propose, the sweater could be presented better with skinny black pants and heels. The ripped jeans detract from the sweater's allure. Let the sweater be the centerpiece of an outfit.

I agree with commentors who suggest black shoes, no necklace and no more color. A sweater this dramatic should be preserved with a unified black-and-white color-scheme.

A necklace would also be distracting. If you want to accessorize, consider something like white bracelets or, if you're really adventuresome, a thick white/silver anklet.

That sweater is amazing I love how you styled it here! However I do like your idea of skinny black jeans and heels too though, very cute!

Hi there, the sweater is so eccentric yet so beautiful and I absolutely adore your red hat. Everyday I search for new looks from you on my dashboard. Keep the good work going.

Love from Toronto.

I love the sweater! It's adorable. I love how you paired it with jeans, but I think it could also go great with black pants. :)

What an awesome sweater!!! I love how you styled it with the hat! I would love to see it with some black skinny pants as you mentioned, and some black t-strap flats!

I really like how you styled it. The ripped up jeans make it look more casual, less dressy. That's a good thing. Dressed up it might look stuffy.

Keep the boots, wear a mini (black, red, another dark solid), and some thick white tights.

I want to take the bang plunge but dont have the nerve. Im 46 and do tons of yoga, I think your haircut is darling! Can we see the outfit with skinny black jeans? I agree no necklace!

I love this outfit. I'd like to see your dressier version, but I'd steer away from a necklace because I think it'd compete too much. Some bracelets, perhaps?

Why can't I ever find jeans like that at TJ Maxx-
Lovely outfit!

Black skinny jeans would be a great fit. I think I'd skip the necklace, since the top seems to be the focus and is a statement in itself. I'd go with chunky red heels!

That is so fabulous! I would wear it with cropped black skinny pants, a heart pendant and red flats.
