The One That Got Away

Dress: Old Navy, thrifted, $5 // Scarf: Vintage, gift // Earrings: Claire's, $8 // Shoes: RJ Girl via Piperlime, $55 // Bracelet: Courtesy of Lucky and LOFT

Up until a couple of years ago, I had a denim dress that fit me like a glove. Though I'm definitely one to hang onto clothes (usually for way too long), I gave it away because it wasn't very stylish at the time, and I never wore it. Now that denim is all the rage, I'm kicking myself! It doesn't look like the old one at all, but when I spied this old Old Navy frock, I knew I had to snatch it up. I'm not sure what I learned from this little scenario... never get rid of something that fits you like a glove? Trends come and go, and that's what thrift stores are for? Maybe there is no moral to the story. We'll see how long this one survives in my closet before it goes back where it came from.

God! I understand you... I got rid of a few one shoulder tops three years ago because it was "too eighties" now I'm kicking myself because those looked really good on me and the one shoulder thing totally came back for good... Th only good thing is that I kept one, just one! But I think I'll work that out...

Anyway, that looks awesome on you just add more color! We're on summer baby!!! BTW I rofl because I thought the feathers of your earring were little braids coming from the back of your neck...

Kisses and good wishes!

I can completely relate. I gave away my cropped denim jacket and now I want it back! :(

Love the outfit. I've been admiring those shoes since many posts ago.

that dress looks great on you! I think the moral of the story is hold onto it if you love it but, trends come and go so that's what thrift stores are for :)

Really cute! I love the cut of the dress and the fact that it is denim. Good choice of shoes with it. xo

I know what you're saying. So glad I hung on to my high waisted levi cut offs (from high school!), totally regret tossing some old plaids and other things from the 90's... like my clogs and Doc Martens, argh. Can't win 'em all.

I have gotten rid of so many things that I now wish I had! Now I'm hoarding my old clothing instead - just have to find more storage :)
That dress looks great, btw!

I have this same problem! I think that I'll never wear a piece again and then donate or recycle it . . . sure enough, years later I end up realizing how awesome that piece could have been with something else in my closet.

I guess you can't save everything though, huh?
