Shady Lady

Shirt: Gap, $10 // Skirt: Vintage, thrifted, hemmed, $1 // Necklace: Urban Outfitters, $10 // Boots: Courtesy of BC Footwear

My apologies for the shadowy indoor picture. I look like I should be telling a campfire ghost story. One of these days I'll figure out how to take a decent indoor picture. Anyway, this is what I wore to work yesterday. I finally got around to hemming this skirt. Since I haven't worn it in so long, it feels like a new piece. I love it when that happens.

I loved the skirt before you hemmed it, but the new length really accentuates the shape. Nice job.

What is the fabric of that skirt? Is it linen?

Your necklace rocks.

I love the skirt, the colour is wonderful!! And the collar is such a great detail to add to the outfit. It's just the right amount of sparkle!

That skirt is pretty cute. I really love how you originally wore it. Indoor pictures are terrible, I know, it is near impossible to get a good one unless you have someone doing it for you.

If memory serves, the Shady Lady is a strip club in KC, correct?

I've lived her a while, but can't say that I've looked it up. Maybe it was in Lawrence...

Also- digging the skirt!

Really cute outfit.

Depending on the camera model that you have (and what kind of flash it has), try bouncing the flash off of the ceiling instead of pointing it straight on. If it's a built in one, there's not much that you can do.

You did such an awesome job with the hem. It looks fantastic- those skirts are always such an awkward length (especially if you're short).
