Still Summer

Top: TJMaxx, $10 // Jeans: Delia's, secondhand, purchased with credit // Shoes: Target, $15 // Earrings: Vintage, $1 // Ring: Courtesy of Accessorize

Today's heat and humidity provided a clear reminder that summer hasn't retired yet. It is supposed to cool off later this week, so I decided to break out a piece that probably won't get much wear once autumn really rolls around -- this cheery plaid blouse. Paired with coordinating clip-ons and a headscarf, I felt ready for a retro picnic.

I will announce the winner of the giveaway tomorrow!

I bought those target shoes but had to return them because I felt like a giant. I think I was around 6 foot with them on...they're so cute though.

This outfit is definitely giving me inspiration for the last days of summer. I love the headscarf! I think that they're especially cute with super short hair like yours. :)

Judging from the weather in Chicago this morning, the end of summer coincided with the end of August. But it WAS HOT yesterday! I just love the retro vibe here. I have an identical headband, and I'm totally going to have to give it a whirl!

here in FL, you can prolly wear this 10 out of the 12 months, considering a hurricane doesn't blow through. Even then, you could pull this off. This has def been the summer of boob sweat but, this picnic outfit is darling.

Another yes vote on the headband! :) I don't know what it is about this outfit, but it looks really crisp and mature to me while still being fun. Thumbs up!

WOW. It has been a long time since I've seen any photos from your blog... I had no idea that you cut your hair. I just wanted to tell you that I think it looks friggin AWESOME!! It looks soooooo good on you; it really brings out your beautiful bone structure and your eyes. I hope you keep it short because it's really REALLY working for ya! I just can't get over how much the style suits you. Anyways, enough of my gushing. Hope you have a wonderful day and weekend.
